Ecological conservation works to preserve the natural environment. With the profile and protection of our flora and fauna higher on the agenda than it has ever been, apT’s Ecology Team lead the way, working with our clients to ensure their projects meet the requirements required by law, but also deliver additional benefits by enhancing and creating sustainable natural places.

Our ecologists are members of the Chartered Institute for Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) and the Royal Society of Biology (RSB). Our team of experienced professionals deliver a full range of environmental consultancy services which support you throughout your project, whatever the size and complexity. We will work alongside you from the outset of your scheme right through to completion and post completion monitoring.

Ecological Assessments
apT Ecologists can provide a wide range of Ecological Assessments to support your plans or projects from initial Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) to Ecological Impact Assessments (ECIA) and many more.

Habitat and Vegetation Surveys
We can provide high level habitat mapping using standard Phase 1 or UKHab habitat mapping methodologies. If you site potentially supports important habitat features we can undertake more detailed assessments including Hedgerow surveys and National Vegetation Classification (NVC) surveys.

Priority and Protected Species Surveys, Mitigation and Licensing
apT ecologists have a wealth of priority and protected species survey experience including bat survey, amphibian/great crested newt survey, reptile survey, badger survey, breeding bird survey and European Protected Species Licencing.

Habitat Management, Creation and Restoration
apT ecologists are able to prepare site specific habitat management plan, monitoring or surveillance programs for sites or specific species and design and project manage habitat creation and restoration schemes

Site Destination and Policy Advice
Our Ecology and Green Infrastructure specialists have experience in managing and delivering site designation programs and can also assist public sector organisation is developing strategies and policies. Services offered include, Local Wildlife Site (LWS) survey and assessment, Local Nature Reserve (LNR) notification, and the development of green infrastructure strategies and Local Plan policies.
